Carolyn I walked onto the basketball court with my black-and-blue basketball on my hip. Closing my eyes, I breathed in the fresh scent of rubber and sweat. Yeah, it's disgusting. But, yeah, it's my home. I picked up my ball and started to dribble. To warm up, I did a few lay-ups. Then I worked on my free-throws, missing only 2 out of 15. I dribbled back and forth down the court to work on my stamina as I wished that there were 4 other people here to work on drills. Instead I just sighed and stopped to work on my 3's. I missed the first few then started to concetrated more on the goal, literally. Then I made 3 after 3 after 3. Grinning, I went over to the bench and downed some water as I heard someone walk in.

Jamie
I walked onto the basketball court, my hair in a high pony much like a cheerleader's. I wore short fushia boy-shorts that showd off my tones legs and a white tank-top.

Carolyn I noticed it was the girl I saw at the office. I let it roll off my back and I went back on the court. Sweat started to form on my forhead, but I didn't care...much. I guess I will when I get to the locker room, but when I was playing or practicing it didn't affect me. Actually, I'm always proud to show that I am working to win.

Jamie
I ignored the rude girl from the office. I sat on the floor and stretched quickly, sliding into a split, getting up and stretching my arms out.

Carolyn "Just so you know, the ball might go crazy and bounce all over." I warned to her, not wanting to have to be responsible for another injury that wouldn't be my fault, but a ball gone wild's. However, that WAS how I met Laura, my BFF and co-caption....and how I made my worst enemy, Sydney. "Not on purpose, but nobody's perfect so sometimes I miss rebounds."

Carolyn "Whatever." I gritted my teeth and ignored her, dribbling. I did some more free-throws and then moved onto my lay-ups. I squeezed my eyes shut and opened them, reluctantly turning on my heel. I knew I wouldn't like this girl, but I needed more practice. "Do you know how to play?" I asked her, motioning to my basketball.

Carolyn "I need to practice an actual game. And I really," I said, exagerating the 'really' a bit, "hope you know that you can't have a basketball game with one person." I told her, dribbling the ball between my legs.

"What makes you think I'd wanna play with," I paused and sneered. "You?"

Carolyn I struggled not to tell her off. "Listen. We can fight all we want, and you can hate my guts, but in this gym," I paused, "I'm at my happy place and I don't put up with fighting crap to distract me." I replied, my tone even and calm. I picked up my basketball and looked at it in my hands. "So, yes or no, and then I can get on." I said, waiting for her reply.

Carolyn I passed her the ball. "Check." I said, getting in position at the top of the 3-point line, waiting for her to pass it back.

Carolyn I passed it back then ran up blocking her. I bent my knees and had my arms up. I stayed on her in defense mode.
